Meet the New 2018 Coaches

HGR Welcomes our new coaches!

Our coaches may be our biggest asset here at HGR. First of all, they are all lacrosse stars in and of themselves. They have received honors and accolades, played on championship High School and College lacrosse teams and have learned the ropes by digging in and competing themselves. Our coaching staff includes several record-setters during their playing career and many All-Americans and Players-of-the-Year.

Coaching experience is another thing that gives HGR a leg up in competitions. Our coaches have proudly led their teams to championships, are head coaches for excellent college and high school teams, and have received awards including Coach of the Year – sometimes receiving multiple CotY honors.

All of this is what continues to advance our players and our teams to tournament championship level.  This summer is no different, and we are proud to welcome these incredible coaches to our staff:

Annie Richards – Coach

  • Currently playing division II lacrosse at Saint Anselm College.
  • Former captain of Austin Prep Women’s Lacrosse
  • CCL League All Star all 4 years in High School

Maggie Joyce – Assistant Coach

  • Currently Assistant coach of HGR 2020s
  • Full time RN at a hospital in southern NH & Part time School Nurse
  • Head Coach Shawsheen Tech Varsity Girls Program 2011-2015
  • HGR Head Coach Summer 2016; Assistant Fall 2017
  • Lacrosse Career: High school at Shawsheen Tech, College at Plymouth State University
  • Student Assistant Coach 2010
  • Awards: Wynne Lobel Coaches’ Award 2010

Becca Shea – Assistant Coach

  • Assistant Coach of HGR Gold
  • Rising Junior Defender at Saint Anselm College
  • Played at St. Mark’s School (Southborough, MA)
    2nd team All-ISL
    2015 and 2016 ISL Champions

Jessica Angerman – Assistant Coach

  • Currently assistant coaching the 2021 Blue HGR Girls elite team.
  • Working in Administration in the Department of Pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital.
  • Coaching experience includes camps, private lessons, and showcases.
  • 4-year player and 2-year captain at the University of Michigan.
  • Attended Shoreham-Wading River High School on Long Island, New York, winning 2 state championships.
  • Played club high school lacrosse for the Long Island Yellow Jackets.

Tom Dalicandro

  • In 2018, led Concord-Carlisle HS to victory in the State Central/East Division 2 Championship.
  • Head Coach Concord Carlisle HS 2001 to Present
  • Assistant Coach Concord Carlisle HS 1993 to 2000
  • Played HS lacrosse Newton North HS
  • Played 4 years at Springfield College – Captain 1991
  • Won a State Championship as an assistant coach in 1998 and as a head coach in 2012 both at Concord Carlisle
  • Teaches Physical Education at Concord Middle School and an assistant football coach at Concord Carlisle HS

Thomas McLaughlin

  • Current Coaching Position: HGR since 2017
  • Previous Coaching Positions: Billerica youth lacrosse
  • Awards (both as player/coach): 2 time mvc all conference at Billerica, 2 time all American and 3 time all New England at Merrimack
  • College and High School teams and personal accomplishments: 2x team captain at Merrimack, 3 Divison 2 final four appearances and 1 national championship appearance at Merrimack College

 


 

Dave Walsh

  • High School English/Language Arts teacher since 1997
  •  Began coaching high school lacrosse in 1992
  • Head Coach at Lexington HS since 2000
  • Five Middlesex League Championships in that time
  •  Twice named Middlesex League Coach of the Year
  • Co-Founder of the 128 Lacrosse Club

Joe Evans

  • Current Assistant Coach Winnacunnet HS
  • Team USA Indoor Goalie
  • Previous Vermont Voyageurs JR Coach
  • Previous USA U-19 indoor assistant coach
  • Previous assistant coach Beverly HS

Marc Colangelo

  • Currently coaching with HGR and Billerica Youth Programs
  • Played collegiate Lacrosse at Nichols College (3 Year Captain)
  • Played high school lacrosse at Billerica Memorial High School
  • Honors: 2001 State Champion, Eastern Mass All Star, Lowell Sun All Star, 1 Year Captain

 

Tim Murphy

  • Current Head Coach at Curry College
  • 2018 CCC Coach of the Year
  • Led Curry to 1st ever CCC Tournament victory in 2017
  • Former Head Coach at Husson University where he led team to 1st ever appearance in the ECAC
  • iv 3 NE Tournament
  • Former Assistant Coach at Franklin Pierce
  • Former Assistant Coach at St. Andrews (NC)
  • Former Assistant Coach at Merrimack College
  • 4 year starter at Merrimack College

Seamus Ford

  • Currently playing lacrosse at Merrimack College
  • Played 4 years of lacrosse at Walpole High School
  • Under Armor All-American in high school
  • NE-10 Champion in 2018 with Merrimack College
  • National Champion in 2018 with Merrimack College
